About this tool
Cropping removes everything outside a rectangle and keeps the pixels inside untouched, so the quality of the kept area does not change. Aspect-ratio presets lock the rectangle to common shapes: 1:1 for profile pictures, 16:9 for video thumbnails and covers, 4:3 and 3:2 for photos, 9:16 for stories.
The tool keeps the original format for JPEG, PNG and WebP and falls back to PNG for anything else. Transparent PNGs stay transparent. Because the crop happens on your device with the Canvas API, even large photos process in a fraction of a second and your files never leave the browser.

- Does cropping reduce image quality?
- The kept pixels are copied as they are. JPEG output is re-encoded at high quality, so there is only a negligible generational loss; PNG and WebP lossless sources stay pixel-exact.
- Can I crop to an exact size, like 1080×1080?
- Yes. Type the width and height in pixels, then set X and Y for the position. The overlay shows exactly what will be kept.
- Which formats are supported?
- Any image your browser can display: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, AVIF and SVG.
