Business Days Calculator
Pick two dates to count the business days between them, or add N working days to a start date. Weekends are skipped; paste your public holidays to skip those too.
About this tool
Contract deadlines, delivery estimates, notice periods and SLA targets are expressed in business days, and counting them on a calendar is error-prone. This calculator counts Monday to Friday by default, optionally Saturday, and skips any holiday dates you list. Adding business days walks forward day by day, skipping non-working days, so a 10-business-day deadline set on a Friday correctly lands two weeks later.
The between-dates mode shows how many calendar days, weekend days and holidays fell in the range, which makes it easy to explain a deadline to a client. Negative counts walk backwards.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the start date counted?
- In between-dates mode both ends are inclusive. In add mode the count starts from the day after the start date.
- How do I enter holidays?
- One date per line in YYYY-MM-DD format, for example 2026-12-25. They are only skipped if they fall on a working day.
- Can Saturday be a working day?
- Yes, tick the option. Sunday is always treated as a rest day.
